How long does silage wrap last? The answer depends on the film specification, UV protection, storage conditions, wrapping quality, and how long the wrapped bale is expected to remain outdoors. Silage wrap is designed to protect forage bales from oxygen, moisture, sunlight, and physical damage during storage. However, no silage wrap film has an unlimited…

Unlike round balers, square baler twine is rated by knot strength — not tensile strength — because square balers tie an actual knot to close each bale. Choosing the wrong size means broken knots, bales falling apart on the wagon, or twine that jams your knotter. This guide covers the real industry-standard sizes for both small and…

Choosing the right round baler twine isn’t just about grabbing whatever roll is on the shelf — it’s about matching roll length and strength rating to your bale size and baler type. Get it wrong, and you’ll end up with snapped knots, loose bales, or wasted product. This guide breaks down the real industry-standard sizes, explains the…

When producing bale silage, choosing the right wrapping material is essential for protecting forage quality, reducing oxygen exposure, and improving storage performance. Many farmers and agricultural buyers search for silage wrap vs plastic wrap because the two terms are often used interchangeably. In practice, silage wrap is a specific type of agricultural plastic film designed…

Baler twine is a strong agricultural tying material used to secure hay, straw, forage, and other baled crops after they are compressed by a baler. It plays an important role in keeping a bale compact, stable, and easy to handle during storage, transportation, and feeding. For farmers and hay producers, choosing the right baler twine…

Most net wrap specification conversations focus on the same handful of priorities: holding tension in the field, surviving outdoor storage, and protecting feed value for livestock. Mushroom substrate producers buying baled straw are solving a different problem almost entirely. The straw isn’t going to a feed bunk — it’s headed for shredding, pasteurization or sterilization,…

Both pallet netting and stretch film hold a palletized load together, but they solve the problem in opposite ways. Stretch film wraps a load in a continuous, sealed layer of plastic. Pallet netting wraps it in an open, breathable mesh. That single structural difference is what drives almost every other difference between them — airflow,…

The John Deere 535 has earned its reputation the honest way — thousands are still baling hay and straw decades after they rolled off the line, and a well-maintained 535 remains a genuinely capable machine. But not every 535 left the factory the same way. Some were built or ordered with factory net wrap; a…

The McHale Fusion 3 is one of the most efficient baler-wrapper combination machines on the market — baling and wrapping in a single, continuous pass. That efficiency is exactly why net wrap specification matters more here than on a standalone round baler. On a combination machine, there’s no pause between baling and wrapping for an…

The Claas Rollant 350 and 374 are built around one core promise: dense, well-shaped, reliably wrapped bales across the full range of conditions European farms actually deal with — wet grass silage in spring, drier hay in midsummer, and straw at harvest. Both machines let the operator adjust the number of net wrap turns applied…
